Wildlife Rescue & Conservation Assistance

Providing guidance, field response, and rehabilitation coordination for displaced, injured, or trapped native urban wildlife across Gandhinagar.

Urban Coexistence

Protecting Distressed Wildlife in the Capital Region

Gandhinagar is known as one of India's greenest planned cities, with expansive tree canopies, riverbank wetlands along the Sabarmati, and open scrub ravines. As infrastructure developments in Kudasan, Raysan, and surrounding zones expand, non-snake wildlife species frequently become trapped in residential zones or injured on roads.

Our wildlife rescue assistance focuses on giving immediate telephonic guidance, field containment when feasible, and directing citizens on how to stabilize distressed wild animals safely until appropriate care can be provided.

â„šī¸ Scope of Service: We assist primarily with reptiles, small non-domestic fauna, and coordination for injured wildlife. For large mammals (such as nilgai or leopards) or scheduled wildlife under strict government jurisdiction, we assist citizens in reporting immediately to the Gujarat Forest Department emergency channels.
Species Coverage

Wildlife Encounters in Gandhinagar

Common non-snake reptiles and native wildlife encountered in Gandhinagar residential and industrial sectors.

đŸĻŽ Bengal Monitor Lizard (Patla Gho)

Often found in store rooms, garden boundary walls, or pipe ducts. Bengal Monitor Lizards are completely non-venomous, protected under Schedule I, and shy. They strike only if violently trapped. Call us for calm containment and relocation.

đŸĸ Indian Flapshell Turtle & Tortoises

Frequently wander onto roads or into drainage canals after monsoon downpours near Indroda Park and the Sabarmati riverfront. We assist in relocating them to secure freshwater bodies.

đŸĻŽ Common Chameleon & Garden Lizards

Harmless, insect-eating reptiles often mistakenly feared as poisonous. We guide garden owners on leaving them undisturbed to continue beneficial pest control.

đŸĻ… Injured Urban Birds (Pigeons, Kites, Owls)

Birds entangled in glass-coated manja (kite strings) or fallen fledglings. We provide safe temporary boxing advice and connect with local avian first-aid networks.

đŸĻ‡ Disoriented Fruit Bats & Insect Bats

Bats occasionally fly through open balcony doors or windows at night. We guide residents on simply dimming lights and leaving one window wide open for natural exit.

đŸĻ” Indian Hedgehog & Small Mammals

Gentle nocturnal foragers that stumble into deep open drain grates or empty swimming pools. We assist in retrieval and returning them to adjacent green pockets.

Helpful Guidance

How To Aid a Found or Injured Wild Animal

Basic humane precautions while waiting for guidance or transport.

01

Keep Warm & Dark

For small injured birds or non-dangerous wildlife, place them gently in a well-ventilated cardboard box lined with a towel. Darkness reduces physiological shock.

02

Do Not Force Feed or Water

Never pour water down the throat of an unconscious or panicking wild animal or bird. Liquid can enter their respiratory trachea and cause fatal drowning.

03

Isolate from Domestic Pets

Ensure cats and dogs are kept far away from the injured animal. Even slight physical contact or loud barking causes severe, life-threatening stress.
